Pizza

Jessie has become obsessed with pizza. I don’t know when it happened; I think it was at Wesley’s fifth birthday party. Wesley lives down the street. His sister Charleigh is a few weeks older than Jessie and their cousin’s birthday is the day after Jess’s. Wesley’s birthday was fun with friends and toys and a bounce house. Jessie chose her own outfit, which was much too hot for the day, and ended up running around in a diaper when I thought she’d pass out from heat. Thankfully she allowed me to dress her in the cooler outfit I brought for her.

Since Wesley’s party she has asked for pizza. She’d never asked for pizza before. When we go to Costco we always stop at the food stand first to get drinks. The first time we went to Costco after Wesley’s party, I ordered our drinks and Jessie wanted pizza. OK. I don’t have a problem with that. It was the biggest piece of pizza ever. She and I shared.

We had pizza at the zoo on Friday. She ate half of it with her hands and agreed to have the rest cut into pieces for easier eating. I was surprised she didn’t insist on taking it with her.

On Saturday we went to Costco with Daddy and stopped at the concession stand to get drinks. She insisted on pizza. She loudly and repeated told us she wanted pizza. It was not a good time for pizza, however, so we did not get pizza then. I called the small pizza place that’s close to home and ordered a pizza for pick-up. The pizza there is the best and there’s a drive-up window so I don’t have to get everyone out of the car.

The pizza’s gone now. I wonder how long it will be before she starts demanding it again.
