Pro Football Hall of Fame Contest

I’ve actually been to a Superbowl. Yep. In 1983, I watched John Riggins make that infamous 43-yard run into the end zone, and kill any hope the Miami Dolphins had of beating the Washington Redskins. It was very exciting, mostly because of the energy coming from the crowd. Because it was at the Rose Bowl, there were a lot of Hollyweird celebrities in attendance. I remember that Linda Carter (Wonder Woman) was even more beautiful in person, gracious, and quite a big football fan. At the time, I wasn’t. I was actually working a concessions stand, but took breaks to watch the game. It was certainly better than a thousand dollar ticket!

Over the years, I’ve reluctantly learned the sport. It’s that or be a Monday night widow. dh used to be a huge 49ers fan (our bedroom is even painted 49er red), but he is slowly embracing the Seahawks. He takes the boys to see Shaun Alexander every chance he gets. He’s a walking book of statistics, telling me all about the players. It goes in one ear and out the other while I simply smile and nod (it’s probably a lot like when I tell him about Scrapbooking!).

If you’re a fan, and think you know football, here’s your chance to prove it. Simply choose which of the seventeen finalists are actually going to be elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. You can choose as few as three or as many as six. Ties will be settled by picking the Superbowl winner (go Indianapolis!) and the total amount of points scored in the game. I’m predicting that Paul Tagliabue is a shoo-in, but I’m still holding out hope for Bob Kuechenberg!

The winner receives a $2,500 shopping spree in their store. The prices are surprisingly reasonable. There aren’t any Superbowl Tickets for sale, though! Enter quickly as this contest ends Febraury 3 at noon.
