Remembering Your Pregnant Belly

Whether you love or hate your pregnant belly, you will want to remember it after your baby is born. Although you may feel like you will be pregnant forever, this is not the case. Soon the baby will be here and you will fondly remember your baby bump.

You can keep a record of your growing belly in a scrapbook. Devote a page to each stage of your pregnancy. You can include weekly or monthly pictures, depending on how large you want the book to be. You can decorate the page or add some text. A note to your baby or a cute anecdote about that month of pregnancy makes the scrapbook even more special.

Pregnancy is a busy time of life. You are likely busy working, caring for other children and preparing your home for your new baby. With a hectic schedule, it is easy to forget to take pictures on a regular basis. One way to remember to do this regularly is to take pictures after each prenatal visit. This way you will have pictures at regular intervals.

Use a digital camera when you take your belly shots. This makes it easy to upload your pictures to your computer. The photographs can easily be added to a blog or emailed to friends and family. If you don’t have a digital camera, you can have your pictures put on disk at your photo lab.

A blog or online pregnancy journal is a great place to organize and store your pregnancy pictures. Print the pages, if you want to add them to the baby book or just have a hard copy. A blog is great for keeping a record of pregnancy milestones with your pictures. Send a link to your blog to family and friends across the country or around the world to keep loved ones updated.

I have a friend who did a video montage of her growing baby. Her husband took a few seconds of video every few weeks during her pregnancy. When the video was complete, it gave a fast look at her growing belly. The video makes it look like the entire pregnancy took place in a matter of minutes. It’s a funny and unique memorial to her baby bump.

In the years to come, you will enjoy looking back on this miraculous time in your life. Your baby will love seeing pictures of your pregnancy when he or she is older. My children have a great time looking at old photographs of me in each of my pregnancies. Keeping a photo record is a gift for the whole family.
