For the first time in a very long time I worked out until I thought I couldn’t make one more step. No more knee or ankle injuries to hold me back. No more excuses. I am overweight and ever since gaining so much, I have felt exhausted and lacked confidence. I feel like my sugar is out of wack and have to huff and puff just doing normal activity. I never should have allowed 30 to 40 extra pounds to accumulate but it happened. Now, is time to deal with it. I decided to deal with it by beginning a workout routine I could do at home in a short amount of time. Ripped in 30 with Jillian Michaels was my choice. I knew the workout was tough and effective. I needed a kick and Jillian has just the attitude to keep me going.
So, I began my first step into Ripped in 30. The program is divided into four weeks. Each week brings new exercises and challenges. I am grateful because I get bored easily and just knowing exercises won’t be repeated in the next week helps me get through it. The workout is 20 minutes long and is divided up into circuits of strength, cardio, and abs. The circuits are short but very challenging. So you get a tough workout but it changes up so much it keeps you going.
The workout was very challenging. I sweat a ton and I could feel my muscles working, I was surprised at how effective the workout felt for only a 20 minute workout. The next day I was sore! Very sore! I loved it. I love the feeling after a good workout. It makes me feel like I made progress and motivates me to keep going. Now, I do not love the feeling of the soreness but that it represents I am heading down the right track to fitness. I will admit that I hardly made it through but I made it! That is all we can ask for in the beginning.
