Saving Time On Your To Do List

My to do list is becoming a novel. For every thing I scratch off three others take it’s place. Keeping house is never ending and just when you think you are caught up there is one more thing to do.

I’m a huge list maker. I have lists for everything including those odd chores around the house that don’t have to be done all the time.

I’m always looking for ways to get my lists done faster so I can enjoy my home and time with my family. The best way to cut down that list is to delegate it. Everyone in the family can help. Just because it’s on your list doesn’t mean no one else can do it. Just make sure that whatever you delegate you are ok with it being done someone else’s way.

Another way to cut down on your to do list is to do as much of your shopping online as possible. You can even shop for groceries online, you simply order them and pick them up. For a small fee someone else takes the time to go through the store and pick them all out. Drive thru pharmacies are a time saver too, especially if you have kids in the car.

To cut down on meal preparation time, make a meal plan. No one wants to eat the same thing every week but if you make a meal plan for a month then shop that plan, dinner will come together much easier. Try to include meals that can be thrown in the crock pot or made from last nights leftovers to cut prep time down even more.

There are so many little things you can do to cut down on your to do list and your time spent keeping house. Putting extra trash bags in the bottom of each trash can will save you from running up and down the steps to get trash bags.

As you cross things off your to do list, think about the future. Can you delegate this? Is there a faster way? What steps can you cut out? The little changes you make will quickly add up.
