Father’s Day is just around the corner, have you started your gift making yet? Perhaps you have decided to go the store-bought route this year. If you haven’t decided on anything yet, you might want to realize the great gifts you can create, using your scrapbooking stash.
Gift Albums
Of course, every day enjoys getting an album made just for him. Fill it with reasons you love him, reasons he’s a great dad or just fill it with things that he likes. A gift album is always a good gift choice.
Cards
Every dad needs a card on Father’s Day. Using your papers, scraps, scissors and card stock – create Dad a great greeting card, just for him. Browse online for quotes and/or poems that tell Dad just exactly how you feel. Or better even still – write your own!
Frames or Mats
Create a frame or even a mat to fit inside a frame, perhaps decorated with dad’s hobbies or favorite things. If dad likes to BBQ maybe you could create the mat or frame to reflect that. If you have a picture of pop flipping burgers on the grill, insert it into the frame. Or use a family photo to make dad smile.
Altered Items
Using my scrapbooking stash, the kids and I created a cool “treasure” box, a magazine file and two frames, to give to dad for his birthday, but the idea could obviously work for Father’s Day. The kids used stickers, paper and glue to alter the boxes and make them more manly. They used paint and scissors, embellishments, fibers and more. Ours was a fishing theme and they used floss for fishing line, constructed hooks out of wire and basically made Dad smile big.
