Scrapping Love Quotes

Even on the most amorous day of the year it would be highly unlikely that I could wax poetic about love the same way that Shakespeare or even Charles M. Schultz did.

I’ve tried to write fluffy marshmallow proses and toyed with penning puppy dog, unicorn and rainbow haikus, but the end result always spells F-A-I-L more than L-O-V-E.

This inability to express my heartfelt feelings on paper makes it tough to come up with original love-themed layouts for my Valentine’s Day scrapbook. Fortunately, what I lack in originality I more than make up for in ingenuity. For the last few years I have given up on trying to come up with lovey-dovey titles and quotes to feature in my designs, these days I simply “borrow” from the professionals.

Don’t kill yourself coming up with cute quotes to add to your scrapbook pages, when you can simply cut them out from your favorite Valentine’s Day card. Select a famous or infamous quote and let the words work their magic on your layout. If you can’t find the words that express how you feel about your lover then look in books, magazines or online. The Internet is teeming with romantic love-laced quotes that are perfect to use in scrapbook layouts. Heck, some people even feature love quotes as part of their email signature. I doubt they’d care if you shared the sentiments.

Of course, you should never lift a quote from somewhere and try to pass it off as your own work. Be sure to attribute the words if they are not your own. However, if you are making a Valentine’s Day scrapbook for your eyes only and you not entering it into a contest or trying to make money from it, there’s no reason not to use an applicable quote in your book. Some of my favorite love-themed quotes can be found online at Georgia Girl’s Love Quotes, The Quotations Page, and Bartleby.com
