“Nothing good comes from snow.”
I’m pretty sure I’ve uttered that phrase on more than one… thousand occasions since moving to Wisconsin 20 plus years ago.
I grew up in Hawaii and now I’m forced to reside where snow comes to die in massive amounts from October until June. Go figure.
I’m not a snow hater. Actually, I find the white stuff quite beautiful… in pictures… and in scrapbooks.
In fact, I recently viewed a gorgeous winter-themed scrapbook featuring dozens of exquisite snow photos, which were embellished with equally eye-popping snow-themed stickers, stamps and rub-ons.
Included in the book were pages that featured:
*First snow of the season with a heavy emphasis on softly falling snowflakes on clean landscapes
*First snow day of the season with photos of kids building snowmen and making snow angels
*Family snowball fight with shots of forts and flying balls of slush
*Pets in snow with pictures of dogs dressed in fluffy sweaters running around in a snowy yard
In addition to the store-bought embellishments, the scrapbook included homemade snowflakes made from origami paper, construction paper and tissue paper. The paper flakes were added to borders, used to decorate photos and dangled from page titles with pieces of dental floss.
If you don’t have the time or resources to design your own snowflake pages, you could opt to purchase snowflake scrapbook paper. Several arts and crafts stores, such as Michael’s, hobby lobby, and Jo-Ann’s, carry generic snowflake paper.
