Seasonal Deals by the Sea

Who needs a white Christmas when you can enjoy a green holiday in more ways than one?

Instead of braving Old Man Winter’s brutal blasts as you countdown to Santa’s arrival, why not soak up the sun along the pristine shores of “America’s Finest City”? San Diego hosts millions of visitors each year and consistently ranks as one of the most family-friendly travel destinations in the world, and now you can experience this Southern California gem without breaking the bank.

See how you can save some green this holiday season by taking advantage of one of these fabulously frugal vacation packages to paradise:

Grand Del Mar: The uber-luxe AAA 5 Diamond-rated resort is offering two amazing deals this holiday season. From November 22 through December 31, 2011, you can book the Holiday Grandeur package, which includes overnight accommodations for two and a $50 resort credit per room ($100 credit if you book a suite). Rates start at $365 per night and $665 per night for suites. If you are visiting with kids, consider booking the resort’s Rein in Your Holidays package. The deal highlights Grand Del Mar’s new 20,000-square foot equestrian center and includes overnight accommodations; a Jingle Bell Ride on a horse or pony; lessons on how to groom and bathe a horse; barn safety workshops and a caramel apple cider treat. Rates start at $560 per night for one child. Additional children may be added for $195.

Hotel del Coronado: The legendary property is going all out for the holiday season by offering two unique seasonal deals. From November 23, 2011 through January 1, 2012, you can choose between the Holiday Escape package and the Silver Bells package. The former includes an ice-skating session for two adults and two children and private s’mores roast on Coronado Beach; rates start at $339 per night. The latter package features a take-home 2011 Hotel del Coronado collector’s ornament and daily breakfast buffet for two adults in Sheerwater restaurant; rates start at $315 per night.
