Small Business Focus: Avodah Coffee

Business Profile: Avodah Coffee

Avodah Coffee is owned by Jordan Heights, married to Jessica Heights from the blog Muthering Heights and Other Senseless Sensibility. They not only make delicious coffee but raise four adorable children. You can see from the Avodah site that they are fun people that take coffee very seriously. I love a company that understands the seriousness of coffee. Most of us wouldn’t make it out of bed each morning without it. From clearing the fog out of our heads to chatting with friends coffee is a welcome companion.

Avodah Coffee is a success because they simply provide a quality product with a fantastic mission that keeps them motivated and blessed. Hard work and high quality are still the hallmarks of business success. Avodah is not only a small business but one that supports missions such as Compassion, Samaritan’s Purse, and Freeset. So enjoy a cup of coffee while knowing your dollars are not only going to quality coffee but important mission work. If you support these types of missions then consider supporting a company that also shares your passion.

Are you curious about the name Avodah? It is central to the vision for their business and important to know. Here is the meaning behind it in their own words.

Why the name Avodah?

The essence and mission of Avodah Coffee – and the basis for our name – is our heart to serve.

Our purpose is to combine our passion for coffee with our passion for missional living. We desire to offer upscale luxury quality coffee at an everyday affordable price, and make the world a better place through our business.

Avodah Coffee was born out of our family’s mission to live a life of Avodah – one in which our work, worship, and service occur simultaneously as we walk with our God. This business is a means of tying those three components together as we work alongside each other, ethically practicing coffee farmers, and importers. And of course, bringing you awesome coffee!
