Snow Buddies

“Snow Buddies” is a continuation of the famous Golden Retriever series that began years ago as “Air Bud” hit the media. After the dog had played several sports, the need to add more to the movies brought about the idea for puppies.

The first movie with the Golden Retriever pups was “Air Buddies”. “Snow Buddies” is the latest pup creation by Disney.

The G rated movie is about 87 minutes long of cuteness and laughter.

The pups begin at home were they all meet up and begin their daily adventure. Their curiosity leads them into an ice cream truck which later drops load of ice cream over Alaska (yes drops as from an air plane). The pups make it out safety but in a new territory.

Meanwhile in Alaska, one little boy is struggling with the dream to race a dog sled. He is a few dogs short with only his Siberian Husky, Shasta.

Of course, the dogs (Shasta and the Snow Buddies) meet up and plan to help make the little boy’s dreams come true. Although there are struggles through the race, all works out for the best in the end.

The pups make wonderful new friends, help a child’s dream come true, and in the end make it back to their rightful owners and homes.

Children and adults alike will enjoy this movie. Each pup is given his or her own personality that adds humor to the movie. While one dog is always hungry, one has the brains, and one never has had them. There is the sports player and the rap dog.

Most of the conversation takes place among the pups. However there are also humans involved to keep the story somewhat believable (the humans cannot hear the dogs talking).

Those dedicated Disney watchers may recognize one of the pup voices as that of Dylan Sprouse from The Suite Life of Zack and Cody.
