Special Needs Podcast Roundup – Week of April 30, 2012

microphone The Special Needs Podcast Roundup brings you brand new episodes of podcasts that discuss topics that would be relevant to parents of children who have special needs. Some of the featured podcast always focus on a particular special need, while other vary in topic.

The Coffee Klatch released an episode on April 25, 2012. This episode is called “The Thinking Persons Guide to Autism”. This episode features guests who are editors and among the most respected and admired autism advocates in the country. They are: Shannon Rosa, Jennifer Myers, Carol Greenburg, Emily Willingham, Kassiane Sibley, and Christa Dalhstrom.

The Coffee Klatch also released an episode on April 29, 2012. This episode is called “Dr. Temple Grandin – Different Not Less”. This is Dr. Grandin’s fifth appearance on The Coffee Klatch. She is always informative and interesting!

Special Chronicles released an episode on April 28, 2012. This episode is called “Special Talks 09: Schaumburg High School Leadership Classes”. This episode features a talk that Dan gave to those classes in February of 2012.

Hold the Gluten released an episode on April 19, 2012. This episode is called “Gluten-Free Globetrotting”. Topics include: Vanessa’s traveling to Phoenix Gluten-Free Expo 2012, Picazzo’s Restaurant in Arizona, and a “super fab ice cream truck man”.

Hope Saves the Day has an episode that was released on April 23, 2012. This episode is number 115, and is called “Interview with Dr. Gil Tippy Co Author of Respecting Autism”. This episode features an interview with Dr. Gil Tippy who is the co-author of the book “Respecting Autism”.

Hope Saves the Day also has an episode that was released on April 29, 2012. This episode is number 116 and is called “Tonights Topic about the Father who secretly records his autistic son’s bullies at school”. This episode discusses the news about a father who sent his autistic son to school with a hidden recording device, and discovered that the teachers were bullying his son. The episode also welcomes Kerry Magro, who was diagnosed with PDD-NOS at the age of four.

Mayo Clinic released an episode on April 27, 2012. This episode is called “Audio Devices and Hearing”. In this episode Mayo Clinic Dr. Colin Driscoll cautions about using audio devices, like mp3 players, in regards to a person’s hearing.
