Spruce Up Bedroom Furniture

trellis If you want to add a little bit of perk to your otherwise functional bedroom furniture, then you may like these ideas. They don’t cost much at all, and yet they add just the right amount of impact.

If you have a tall armoire or other piece if furniture with doors, you can add a touch of color and or pattern by adding wallpaper or contact paper to the interior walls and doors. When you open the doors, you’ll see a great bit of design that doesn’t overwhelm the room as it might if the paper were on the outside of the piece. if you don’t have a tall piece, use your closet instead!

Back when I lived in a college dorm, we created a little design on our standard issued desks by attaching contact paper to the flat surface of the desks. It helped us declare our personality. When the school year was over, the paper just peeled off effortlessly. It also protected the desks from damage, so we didn’t have any unexpected charges at the end of the year.

Are you having a problem with an overflow of clothes that should be hung in the closet but are instead draped over your furniture? One great way of sprucing up your bedroom furniture is to remove the clutter. Give those closes a great place to go instead by installing a simple piece of white trellis on the wall and using it as a clothes rack. Screw some single hooks on the slats to hold any clothes. You can purchase a new piece of trellis for very little at Home Depot or Lowes.

If you own a dremel tool, now is the time to take it out. Use it to polish up old metal door handles and knobs for a shiny new look. This idea also works well on your bedroom doorknobs. It is amazing how much caked on dirt accumulates over the years.
