Summer Stamping

If you are a fan of rubber stamping, then you’re going to love all of the options available for summer. From suns to swimming pools, swimsuits to sailboats, seasonal stamps abound. What’s more, if you play your cards right, you can enjoy summer scramping without breaking a sweat.

Places such as Addicted to Rubber Stamps and Impress Rubber Stamps offer hundreds of thousands of choices for scrappers who can’t create a layout without a few stamps. Both companies make it easy for scrappers to find just the right stamp embellishment, thanks in large part to their theme arrangements. For example, if you are looking for a stamp of a ice-cold tropical libation to make your beach resort page design pop, then simply type the words “tropical cocktail” into the search tool, and you will be taken to a page with hundreds of drink selections.

Whether you are shopping at your local craft or scrapbook store or you are surfing the web for cool looking stamps for your summer scrapbook layouts, be sure to consider size and price before purchasing. Size is critical, especially if you are planning to re-use the stamp over and over. Select a large size stamp if you plan to decorate the background of a page and save smaller stamps to make page borders and frames. In most cases, if you plan to use a larger stamp, it’s best to stick with more conservative images, such as flowers, stars or circles. By doing so, the stamp doesn’t distract from photos or memorabilia.

Another seasonal option is to use a rubber stamp featuring some type of text. There are dozens of summer-themed phrases, quotes, and words that are perfect for summer layouts, from “summer fun” to “sizzling hot” to “wet and wild.” Use your imagination to create dazzling titles or use the text stamps as accents to photos or journaling blocks.
