Support Breast Cancer Research By Shopping

Nothing is better than shopping — unless you are shopping for a cause. And if your cause is breast cancer research, you’ve got lots of options.

First I’d like to introduce you to iGive. With iGive, you choose a cause (and there are nearly five hundred different breast cancer related causes to choose from) and start shopping. This is great if you do a lot of online shopping.

  1. Use iGive as your portal to more than six hundred different online retailers. Don’t see a store you want? Just ask them — they’re pretty quick about approaching new retailers.
  2. Shop as you normally would. A percentage of your purchase price will be donated to the cause of your choosing.
  3. Donation amounts can vary anywhere from less than 1% to more than a quarter of your shopping total.
  4. You don’t pay any extra — the retailers have agreed to donate a part of the sale to charity.
  5. The iGive newsletter will keep you updated about special donation periods when particular sellers give a larger percentage to your charity.

Here are some other retailers that are making donations to breast cancer research:

  • Ford (you may have heard of them, they sell cars) has a new Warriors in Pink line of clothing. One hundred percent of net proceeds will be donated to Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Shop online at www.fordcares.com.
  • Philosophy (a high end bath and body maker) has a special “shower for the cure” line available. One hundred percent of net proceeds will be donated to the Women’s Cancer Research Fund. Shop online at www.philosophy.com or at Nordstrom.
  • Avon (maker of makeup and much more) has their own Breast Cancer Crusade. More than twenty items are available in the Crusade line; one hundred percent of the net proceeds support access to care and the search for a cure.
