Taking Pictures at Target

Did you know that Target has an in-house portrait studio? Apparently, I don’t get out much. Actually, I blame my location. Target portrait studios exist, but only in select stores. I stumbled upon one while visiting a friend who lives just outside of a major metropolitan area, and I was quite impressed with what I saw.

For starters, if you forget your coupons at home, Target portrait studio has some available at the front counter. I suppose it helps lure walk-in traffic, but I have been to many in-store portrait studios that wouldn’t dream of offering you discounts on sessions unless you brought in a valid coupon.

The full-service studio has props and backdrops to enhance photos for every occasion, including birthdays, anniversaries, and holidays. Target also takes newborn portraits, family and group shots, school photos and maternity pictures. You have the final say when it comes to choosing backgrounds. Selections include velvet curtains and painted canvas backdrops. Props include flowers, and faux birthday cakes, foam numbers, wagons and blocks.

In addition to ordering portrait packages, collages and enhancements you can place your favorite image on the following:

*Greeting cards

*Pillows

*Tote bags

*Mouse pads

*Mugs

*Blankets

*Coasters

*Key chains

Something else that might interest you about Target portrait studios is that they accept applications for staff photographers year-round. If you have ever dreamed of turning your passion into a career, then you might consider working at Target’s in-house photo studios, which are owned and operated by Lifetouch Portrait Studios.

Lifetouch is a leader in school portrait photography and has been in business for decades. The company offers full-time, part-time, and seasonal employment opportunities. However, if you get the job be prepared to start off on the weekend or night shift.

While the hours might take getting used to, you have a bevy of benefits to look forward to such as: flexible schedules, store discount, advancement opportunities, holiday and vacation pay, medical, dental, and life insurance benefits (for full-time employees) and referral bonuses.
