The Baby Blog Week in Review for December 23-29

It’s been crazy this month here in the Baby Blog and we haven’t always been as on top of things as I would have liked to be. We’ll be making some changes here in January in order to bring you the best we can on time and every day. In the meanwhile, let’s take a look at our last week here in December of 2006 as we get ready to welcome the Baby New Year.

Saturday, December 23

In The Women in Our Lives and The Men in Our Lives we looked at the fact that we need the men and women in our lives, all of them and how important they are in the lives of our infants and our lives as parents.

Monday, December 25

In Away in a Manger, No Crib for a Bed we discussed the celebrations that take place around the world, honoring the birth of the Baby Jesus. In It’s Okay to Be Afraid we talked about the fact that fear of impending motherhood is natural and that the sense of anxiety actually helps us as parents. In Finding Doctor Right we looked at the different options we have as parents and what we are looking for in a pediatrician.

Tuesday, December 26

Shopping for Your Baby – What You May Want covers a number of questions you might have about what to shop for and what to hold off on buying until after the baby shower. In Your Baby & Your Family Pet we discussed how to get your family dog ready for your impending arrival and how to avoid some of the dangers of jealousy between animal and infant. Apgar Test – What Does It Mean? we discussed the scoring on the Apgar test and what it means for your baby.

Wednesday, December 27

Babies Develop Differently and we shouldn’t want it any other way. What is Infant Acne? it’s a condition that affects many infants and you need to be aware of how to care for it and what not to do. In To Circumcise or Not? I got a lot of responses to this topic and there are many different ways of looking at the subject.

Thursday, December 28

What is Cradle Cap? it’s an annoyance and it will also pass in time as your baby ages, you just need to have to look after them until it does. There are a few things to remember when it comes to Caring for the Umbilical Stump.

Friday, December 29

Are Jumpers Safe for Your Baby? there are conflicting opinions on the movement device for young ones, but there are some items you should remember. Finally, in Stimulating Your Baby’s Motor Skills remember that you stimulate your baby a great deal through normal interaction.
