The Pets Blog Week in Review for Apr 2-8

It’s that time again: time to catch up on what you might have missed last week in the Pets Blog. Below is a daily breakdown of what Aimee and I covered:

Monday, April 2

Poor Aimee had to endure a Moose on her head at 2 a.m. thanks to Nights of Thunder

Tuesday, April 3

There was no joy in Kittentown when it came to Aimee’s friend’s spayed kitten Zoe and the “creative diapering” they partook in to keep her from licking her stitches. In honor of April being Pet First Aid Awareness Month, we gave you a list of potentially pet harmful things to be wary of, as well as suggestions for “what to do if…” happens.

Wednesday, April 4

Awareness is key when it comes to avoiding the need for first aid, so beware of these four Easter items that are hazardous to your pet’s health. Have a dog who gets a bit woozy on car rides? Good news! The FDA has approved a carsickness drug for dogs.

Thursday, April 5

Because kids aren’t the only ones who like to get Easter goodies, a shopping we went for pet Easter baskets and bonnets. Besides Aimee’s diapering incident with Zoe, she’s had some other experiences that prompted her to find creative alternatives to Elizabethan collars when it comes to dissuading pets from getting to their stitches.

Friday, April 6

Aimee wasn’t the only one who experienced a night of thunder last week (luckily mine didn’t involve any dogs trampling my head at 2 a.m.). Like her Moose, my Murph isn’t crazy about storms either, and when one rolled through and created havoc in our household, Spring Proofing Your Pet: Thunderstorms was born. Aimee’s really great about keeping up on the new laws being passed or the current legislation under consideration, and boy howdy did she find a good one this go around with Dogs in Bars.

Saturday, April 7

True cat fanatics didn’t, but if you missed Cat-Minster last year, you could’ve caught it again Saturday thanks to GSN’s replay.

Sunday, April 8

Happy Easter! There’s lots of mystery surrounding this bunny, but one thing’s for certain: The Easter Bunny is one giving rabbit!
