Think Pink for Home Decor

pink ornament Are you wondering what the latest hot thing in home decorating is? Well get ready to think pink.

Pink is a color that is showing up everywhere. Home decor sometimes takes its cue from fashion, and I think this is the case here with pink. For example, there is a new Rolex watch that features an etched pink face. In home decor, you’ll find the pink in many different places, mostly as an accent color. This is just in time for the upcoming Valentine’s Day.

The shade of pink that is currently hot ranges from a rosy, silvery pink to a rich rose hue. You won’t find any delicate pastel pinks this time around. And forget the pink and black combination or even the pink and chocolate brown combination. For the hottest look, you’ll see pink paired with lavender or gold.
Try out some pink in throw pillows, especially long rolled pillows, in curtains and in valences, and in table clothes, runners and napkins.

Pink is also showing up in tableware. Check out dinnerware by designer Jaimie Chew. The Lattice, Limoges-porcelain plates feature traditional Chinese architectural motifs and comes in pink/lavender or blue/orange. The pink is bold enough to be sophisticated without being overpowering. The cost of a five-piece place setting in $330.

If you are looking to the bedroom, pink bedding is an upcoming trend as well. Look also for lavender to set off the pink. Some combinations that I have seen for pink bedding include pink and gold, pink and lilac, and pink, gold and lilac, which follows what I mentioned above.

By concentrating your pink in linens and pillows, you can update the look in your home without spending a designer fortune. It gives a look of luxury (remember that rolex watch) without the expense.
