Everyone has a dream and when it finally comes true, you might wish for someone to pinch you just to be sure you aren’t actually asleep. Two years and one month ago, I had my own dream and it did come true and here I am all this time later, still loving it!
When I accepted the position to write with www.families.com I had no idea that two years and one month later I would still be here. I also had no idea of the opportunities that would present themselves to me during this time. I love writing for this company, and am excited to celebrate my third year in 2009!
Two years and one month ago I published my very first article in the scrapbooking section. My main focus during my first couple of months seemed to be journaling. As a writer, that really doesn’t surprise me. It is a lot of fun for me to go back and review some of my earlier articles and see how not only the trends have changed, but how the focus on scrapbooking changes as well.
While one of my favorite topics to teach to my students is still journaling, I have added dozens of classes throughout the years and continue to add monthly based on the current trends. I hope you see that in the articles as well, as I try to keep you informed about what is important at the same time that I am teaching you new techniques, giving advice and showing you the latest and greatest supplies to have or use.
Who knew that during my time with this awesome company, I would not only continue teaching classes and expand my own creative knowledge, but also start my own business as a scrapbook consultant which would later lead me to sign with a major scrapbooking company. I thank www.families.com for all the opportunities you have afforded me during my time here.
As the industry continues to grow and change, I will continue to grow and change right along with it. I would love to hear from more readers about your current projects and layouts, what you are struggling with and any ideas that you might have that would create great articles for others.
I am looking forward to another year with www.families.com and all of you. We really have become a family, and preserving that is just as important as preserving all my memories.
