When you go through your photographs and start organizing your pictures, set aside those that didn’t turn out. Throw away the ones that just aren’t any good at all, but hold onto those that have good parts. If you took a photo of two people and one person’s face is outside the frame of the picture, cut that section off and toss it, but keep the portion that turned out okay. These pictures can be used for many different craft projects, so they aren’t a total waste.
Your kids can make photo collages, but you can also use them for other things. Draw interesting shapes around partial pictures and cut them out. Glue a few small pictures of your child to an outlet cover for his or her bedroom. Glue some to book covers, pencil boxes, and other personal items instead of labeling these items with each child’s name.
Partial Christmas photos can be added to ornaments or those from other holidays and special occasions can be added to smooth, glass votive holders and used for decorations the next time the occasion rolls around.
Another cute idea is to accent corners of a mirror or a bulletin board with partial photos. Your kids will probably come up with some fun uses for photographs too. They can be added to gift bags, greeting cards or notes, and your kids can even make their own postcards. You can make them from cardstock, or pick up a pack of postcards or note cards with envelopes made from acid free paper. You can find them at craft stores and your favorite supercenter at very reasonable prices.
Grandparents, distant relatives, family friends, and pen pals will love receiving notes and cards with photos on them. What better way is there to let Grandma and Grandpa know that you are thinking about them?
