Using Coupons For Scrapbooking Supplies

If you have been scrapbooking for any length of time, you have probably seen the cost of certain products and wondered why in the world someone would pay so much for something. And then you probably even wonder, “Do I need that?”. Well, I cannot answer the latter for you, that is a personal decision, but I can try to help you with the cost of the item.

Many stores have weekly coupons that come out. Usually they are found in the newspaper, though visiting websites for your favorite store can often provide you with a printable coupon for your next shopping trip.

Just like any store, coupons are out there and you need to find them. Many of the chain craft stores have a weekly coupon usually discounting one item at a full 40%-50% off. This can be great when you are eying that new scrapbook gadget that you really want to buy but the cost of the item keeps you from doing so.

If you want to purchase an $80 alphabet die set for your personal die cutting machine, using that coupon could reduce it down to $45 or even $40! That is a drastic discount from its unusually high, everyday price.

But don’t just stop with the big retail craft chains, look a little closer to home at your local scrapbook store.

Ours has big celebrations every few months which allow you to shop with deep discounts in mind. If your local scrapbook store has a key chain or punch card, be sure and get it. Usually they will punch it for each purchase over a certain amount. I did this years ago with another scrapbook store where I lived at the time. One day I was able to go in with two fully punched cards and get $100 worth of merchandise for FREE. I won’t even tell you how much I had to spend to get that, but it was probably a years worth of shopping trips. It made it so worth the cost of the supplies at the end, when I was able to get that extra stuff.
