With Spring Break arriving already for some, the vacation planning is in full gear for many families. Knowing what to bring and how to pack it, is the key to getting a little relaxed scrapbooking done on your vacation.
If you don’t already have a crop tote or scrapbooking travel bag, now is a great time to grab one. This makes transporting your scrapbooking items much easier and safer. It is always a good idea to check any questionable items or liquids on an airplane, or you can run the risk of having them taken from you.
Here are a few tips to get you thinking about your vacation and how and what to pack.
Camera – As much as this seems like a total definite item, you might also be sure and pack a disposable, or a water proof camera for fun shots in unique places. Not to mention, picking up a couple of spare batteries for your camera isn’t a bad idea too. If you use film, pack a lot. This way you are sure to not run out while on vacation. If you have a digital, bring a laptop or purchase a few camera cards so you can take as many as you like and not worry about deleting anything.
Pens – I would recommend going with an acid free one, so that if you make a note on something it won’t ruin it. Pens come in handy for recording dates, journal entires, experiences and funny or memorable moments.
Paper – A notebook or journal is a smart item to pack and carry with you while you are traveling. Here you can record specific photograph information, memories, dates and locations. You can also use it as a travel diary giving a play by play account of your days.
Bag – I recommend bringing a few gallon sized bags with you to collect and store memorabilia. The plastic bag protects the item from moisture and you can separate the items by labeling the bags with the date the item is from.
Scrapbook Basics – Either page kits and adhesive so you can just scrap when you want. Or pack some papers, scissors, embellishments and anything else you need while you are scrapbooking and toss them in too. This way you have some odds and ends that will let you stay creative even while you are on vacation.
