Visually Appealing Pages: Part Two

Welcome back to my blogs on creating visually appealing scrapbook pages. This is part two which will hopefully spark some new ideas for all you scrapbookers out there.

Border around your pages gives them flair. While we often think about matting pictures or putting borders around them, the page itself can get a new look with a border. You can put lace, punch outs or stickers around the page.

Another fun idea is to punch holes around the edges of the paper and then lace ribbon through them. This will totally change the look of your page.

Accenting your page can be done by using patterned paper. It is so much fun to look at the variety of patterned paper that is available. You can mat your pictures with this paper or cut out funky designs to accent your page, such as long strips or shapes.

Patterned paper can also create a unique look when you cut out letters and use them on your page.
If you are into flowers and use them on your scrapbook page, you can add more spark to them by attaching a decorative brad to the center of the flower or a button.

Torn paper also creates a neat look. You can tear around all of the edges of a piece of cardstock and mat your picture onto that. Or you can just tear one side. Smaller pieces of paper can be torn and placed all over the page for an accent.

Hopefully some of these ideas will get your own creative juices flowing. What I love doing is taking an idea and changing it up some. Suddenly I think of a new twist on an old idea. This is a great way to come up with some creative pages if you feel stuck.

So take some of these ideas and either run with them or put your own twist on them. Now get scrapbooking.
