Wedding Planners

Most brides that I know of that live in my area plan their own weddings. They search through books and get ideas from others. However, no professional person or service is hired for the planning help. The professionals do come in when food, cakes, invitations, decorations, and filming are concerned.

I had never really thought about true wedding planning agencies until I watched The Wedding Planner. After seeing the movie I realized that there really must be people out there that plan weddings for a living. I had also never really considered how big and expensive some weddings can be. There may be more details than one bride can handle planning.

After all of this thought, I decided to research a little more into the whole idea of hiring and being a wedding planner.

First of all, what is a wedding planner?

The wedding planner takes on the role of managing the wedding. He/she makes arrangements and sets up all appointments. The bride and groom talk to the wedding planner who then talks with all other people who need to be involved. This cuts out on the couple having to deal with many different persons, such as caters, florists, etc. The wedding planner also deals with the stress of the couple. As seen in the movie, the wedding planner may also play as the therapist.

Why hire a wedding planner?

If your wedding is going to be big, I mean really big and expensive, you may need some help with the details. Wedding planners are up to date with all of the latest styles and trends. They know people and ideas that you may have never thought of. You may also need a planner if your job keeps you busy. If you spend time out of town and cannot be accessible for planning, you may want to consider hiring help.
