Wednesday’s Weekly Challenge-Use Your Ugly Paper

So, have you ever bought something that you thought was so great only to throw it in your stash and never pick it up again? Weeks later, you run across it and think, Why did I buy that? Or, maybe you bought a paper pack that just has one or two papers that you couldn’t live without, but the others are all ugly papers that you would never use? If you answered yes, then this weekly challenge is just for you! It’s time to think outside the box and try your best to create something beautiful out of something ugly. Maybe we should call this the ugly duckling challenge?

Search through your stash and find the two ugliest papers that you can find. In addition, search for an ugly embellishment. Now, create something out of these 3 items. You can add anything “beautiful” that you want to the layout, you just can’t hide your “uglies”. Keep them out in the open for everyone to see.

The purpose of this challenge is to help you think outside the box, and also use up your supplies! Maybe it is so you will change up your style a little bit, and do something different. I purchased this paper pack once that I saw online and thought was so cool. When it arrived in the mail, I was very disappointed. It was ugly. At least to me. But, it was one of the latest designs out there, and I had paid a pretty good amount for it, so I was determined to make it work.

I’m sad to say that the paper pack is still mostly here. I used it on a 2-page layout, just so that I could say that I did, but then I never used it again! So, this challenge could be for me too. It is so hard sometimes to do something different, or to get past your style that you are so used to, but it will feel good to think outside the box and use those supplies! Get scrapping and let’s see how ugly you can get!
