What is Your 7 Month Old Up To?

A lot has happened in the last month of my little guy’s life. Tomorrow, he will be 7 months old. How these months keep passing by so quickly, I don’t know, but they do! My little man has started to be a little more mobile, and that makes life fun, interesting, and keeps me on my toes! Sometimes, it can make life frustrating too. But, he recently had his first swim lesson which was a lot of fun.

He is sitting up great now, which is nice. I can plop him down on the floor, and his balance is getting better and better. I still worry a little about him falling on my hardwood floors, so for now, we stick with carpeted areas. But, at the same time he started sitting up, he started doing an army crawl. This is the first time that one of my kids has started sitting up and crawling in the same week! So, now we have to be even more careful about what we leave lying around. Because if he can see it, and he wants it, he is going to get there eventually. Luckily, he is not very fast yet.

His sleep leaves a lot to be desired at this stage. It seems we went from sleeping great at night to 2-3 night wakings again. I can only attribute it to the fact that he wants more to eat! He is definitely taking in a higher volume of formula, and since we just started introducing solids, you can tell that he just wants more. So far, pears are his only food, but we are getting excited to introduce one of my favorite baby foods to him. Avocados!

One of my favorite things about this age is that he is interacting with his siblings and with us so much more now. He laughs all the time, loves to play little games like peek-a-boo and is really noticing other babies and big kids. Yesterday he was so thrilled to sit in a big giant box with my older two kids and all their stuffed animals. It made him happy to be part of the game.

Seven months old is so precious and special. I am trying to relish in each stage as it comes so that I make sure and enjoy each one.
