Where Can I Find Modest Clothing?

We know we’re supposed to dress modestly, but it’s so hard to find modest clothing at the store. Most department stores carry clingy, tight, low-cut or high-cut styles that reveal more than we feel comfortable revealing, and sometimes it’s just easier to wear our old clothes than it is to find anything new. The Internet just may hold some answers for us.

Mikarose is a relatively new company that specializes in modest dresses. Their sizes range from extra small (yeah, like anyone is really that size) up to 18. The dresses are chic, modern, and . . . modest. You could wear them to work, to church, or to a nice event and look and feel fashionable.

Hannahlise carries “modest fashion without the frump,” according to their website. They carry everything from skirts to shirts and dresses for women up into the plus sizes, and for girls. The clothing really is pretty—I see nary a frump.

Eshet Chayil has a lovely selection of clothing as well. Wrap sweaters, broomstick skirts, and some classy suits all caught my eye. The site has a Bohemian, relaxed feel to it.

Below the Knee is a fun site with clothes for women and girls. They have a great selection of denim skirts and tops—if you can’t find something you like here, well, that would be unusual.

Shade Clothing specializes in the undershirts everyone is wearing right now, layered under other tops. You’ll find them in all colors, in sizes for girls all the way up to pregnant women, and they carry extender slips as well.

If none of these work out for you, hit the Internet and enter the words “modest clothing.” You’ll find numerous sites just dying for your business. Clothes shopping doesn’t have to be a scary experience – modest clothing does exist, and there are ways to find it. We just have to be a little more persistent, that’s all.
