Where is our Fitness Blog Week in Review?

Unfortunately, the craziness this week precluded a lot of fitness articles to cover for the fitness blog. We did take a look at exercise styles, but this week just didn’t lend itself to focusing on fitness as much as I would like.

What Did We Do?

My daughter and I did two miles per day on our bikes. We also went out for a couple of long walks. They celebrated field day on Monday and water slide day on Wednesday. She came home from school pretty tired, but excited at the same time.

We spent one afternoon planning what we’re going to do this summer. Among the home studies we’re going to engage in assignments that focus on reading, math and social studies. We’re going to do three different trips to the zoo to do a portrait of different animals and we’re going to the art museum with her sketchbook so she can try her hand at it. (That last is her idea and not mine).

Fitness is going to play a big part in our summer planning as well. We want to ride our bikes for an hour every morning. She is taking a jazz dance class and continuing with her gymnastics. We’re going to do our best to hit the swimming pool as often as we can (though it has rained every day since school got out and I have to laugh, we need the rain and our lake should finish filling back up and recovering from the drought of the last two years.)

Fitness is a Family Thing

We’re making fitness is a family thing our summer motto. Our goal is to build endurance and strength and to enjoy being together. What will you and your family do this summer to focus on fitness and more?
