Who is Jesus?

null
Many people want to insist Jesus was a good man or a prophet. This is not what the bible teaches. The bible teaches:

Jesus is ‘the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God,’ John 1:1.

Or as Colossians says ‘He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation,’ Colossians 1:15.

‘No one has ever seen God, but God the One and Only, who is at the Father’s side has made him known,’ John 1:18.

Jesus is the one through whom all things were made, John 1:3. Colossians stresses that ‘by him all things were created, things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible,’ Colossians 1:16.

The remainder of this verse tells is he is also the one for whom all things were created, Colossians 1:16

Jesus is the sustainer of all things, Colossians 1:17. ‘In him all things hold together.’

Jesus is ‘the head’ of the church, and the ‘firstborn from among the dead,’ Colossians 1:18

Jesus is the one through whom we can have forgiveness of sins, Colossians 1:14

The Bible tells us Jesus is the only way to God. Jesus declared this to be so in John 14:6. ‘I am the way, and the truth and the life.’ Not a way, or a truth, but the way, the truth, the only way to life. ‘No-one comes to the Father except through me.’

The bible states in John 3:16-18 about why God sent Jesus into the world – to save us. Through believing in Him we have eternal life. But the bible us equally as clear when it says, ‘whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son,’ John 3:18.

Jesus is the one who makes peace for us with God and reconciles us to God, ‘through his blood shed on the cross,’ Colossians 1:20.

Jesus is far more than just a healer. He is the one who has power and authority to heal not only our bodies but our souls, Mark 2:10-12.

As the verses above show, Jesus is so much more than a good man or a prophet. Surely when we stop and really consider who Jesus is, it requires some response from us. How will you respond?
