Why Pay for Digital Scrapbooking?

Have you ever paid for online scrapbooking services?

I can’t see why you would have to given how many reputable sites offer high-quality services for free.

Granted, I am not a hardcore digital scrapper. Rather, I tend to cling to the traditional method, but still, I can honestly say that I have yet to spend a dime scrapping online.

Of course, I am not easily suckered into buying hard-bound printed books containing my digital layouts, which is how many digital scrapbooking companies make their money. Another way online companies generate an income while still offering free scrapbooking services is that they make you pay for prints. Basically, they make it hard (or impossible) to print your pages without paying for the service.

If you can resist the urge to print out your scrapping treasures, then consider visiting sites, such as Mixbook. I love that the site allows you to create digital scrapbooks free of charge. What’s more, the site is user-friendly and the variety of templates, backgrounds, and embellishments is quite impressive. Best of all, Mixbook does not require you to download software, which is why I love it so. The site makes digital scrapbooking, easy, fun and affordable.

I am also a fan of Smilebox because it allows you to add music to your digital scrapbooking creations. The downside is that you have to download the company’s software before you can create layouts on the site. If you are not comfortable having to download software, then consider visiting Shutterfly. The popular photo-sharing site also offers digital scrapbooks for free. You don’t have to download software; instead you use the site to create a free web page where you can post your digital scrapbook for the world to see. Another option is to use free slideshow sites such as Slide.com. The easy-to-use site allows you to set your slideshows to music and add funky fades in between shots.
