Why Petco Is Where I Go (Now)

A few years ago, when my friends adopted their wiggle-pup Casey, I scrambled for a good gift. I didn’t know what kind of treats the puppy would like, and they’d already shopped for toys, a crate, a bed, and food. In the end, I went with a Petco gift card.

Since then, I’ve been on the Petco mailing list. Most of the time (let’s say 99 out of a hundred) I brush past the emails and don’t pay much attention. A recent mailing caught my eye: sale on Frontline. What perfect timing! I was out of Frontline, it was nearly time for the dogs to get it (I try to do it near the first of the month), and the price was fantastic — I saved nearly $40 and got free shipping because my order was more than fifty bucks.

All in all, I was pretty pleased with my savvy shopping.

The package arrived yesterday, and the box was HUGE. A little weird to have such a big box for two little packages of Frontline. But when I opened the box, there was more than just Frontline inside.

Petco also enclosed a sample of puppy piddle pads (which made me laugh), some coupons for both wet and dry dog food, and my favorite surprise of the day — a seed card. If you’ve never seen a seed card, it’s basically paper with seeds in it. You soak the paper and plant the whole thing and end up with wildflowers. Cool, huh? I was pretty thrilled.

It’s touches like that (and the great prices) that will keep me shopping at Petco.

The sale prices on Frontline are good through tomorrow, June 6th. So if you’re in need, check it out! This is a great time to stock up. (And if you do order, let me know what cool extras come in your package!)
