Zagat Names Soarin’ Best Attraction

You know the Zagat guides? These great travel guides that give us access to all the interesting and charming things a city or location has to offer. This year, they’ve published their first ever Walt Disney World’s Insider Guide and named Epcot’s Soarin’ as the best overall attraction to visit. Having been on Soarin, I have to agree wholeheartedly with Zagat on this.

Soarin’

The Soarin’ attraction invites you to be strapped securely in your seats and then to experience the wonder of special effects and a screen that send you soaring across the countryside, beaches and mountains of California. As you soar over the orange orchards, you can actually smell the oranges and you can smell the ocean as you take a pass over it and the evergreens – the entire experience is so worth it, we did it three times. So yes, Zagat’s nailed this one on the head.

Other Ratings

The guide also rates the most popular restaurant (California Grill at the Contemporary Resort), the most popular shopping (World of Disney at Downtown Disney) and the most popular hotel (Animal Kingdom Lodge). I can vote strongly with the last because we stayed at the Animal Kingdom Lodge during our last visit and having the Savannah just outside your window and being able to sit out and have your morning coffee as the giraffes, zebras and more wander by — indescribable.

Other ratings include the top hotel (Grand Floridian) and their favorite park (the Magic Kingdom rated first with Epcot coming in a close second). Do you agree with some of these ratings? I do! But then I’ve been to Disney World five times, we were married there, we celebrated an anniversary there and we’re already planning our next trip.

So let me ask you, what is your favorite hotel? What is your favorite attraction? What about your favorite restaurant? Shopping spot and more? What do you love most about Disney World and how would you rate your favorite rides and attractions? I’d love to hear from you.
