Ziplist: Making Grocery Shopping Easy

I hate grocery shopping. It is falls only second to laundry on my list of household duties I would rather not do. I never know what I am buying because I never have a well planned list. I try looking up recipes to find fun new ideas and form lists based off of that. Yet, I am always forgetting something at the store. It doesn’t help having a family who is picky about what they eat so the question, “What’s for dinner?” is never pleasant to answer. What I end up doing is spending more money on buying foods I see and think I can incorporate into a meal only so they can go bad sitting in the fridge waiting for the day they will be used. I tried meal planners but the meals did not always suit my family’s tastes and it was costly. Yes, we are fussy and needed a personalized plan. We also want to purchase foods that are healthy and support weight loss and maintenance. Just when I accepted that I would just wander aimlessly at grocery stores I find Ziplist.

Ziplist is a handy little app I installed on my iPhone. It is available for the iPad and Android phones as well. With Ziplist, I can search recipes right from the app from all over the internet. I simply type in Roast Chicken and up comes several recipes for me to browse. The one I pick gets added to “recipe box”. Once you save it, you can refer back to it for future shopping trips. Now, for the coolest part! I can click to add the ingredients from this meal to my shopping list. Immediately the ingredients are added and organized by category such as dairy, meat, etc. You also have the option of emailing the recipe, sharing it on Facebook or Twitter. You know how much people love talking food on social media outlets.

Ziplist will help keep you on track with your meal planning. Meal planning is an essential part of any weight loss program. It can be the most confusing part but with Ziplist even I can manage to grocery shop without pulling my hair out.
