Soda In Schools? No More! - Blog Entry

10 Jun 2006 07:17 PM

Here in our area of Los Angeles there are no machines in the Elementary school, yet for any function they sell nachos and soda. For events they have pizza and parents bring soda for birthday parties. My son never had soda until one of those parties. I bring Gatorade for his birthday celebrations.

Make sure the school and teacher know that you don't want your child to have the goodies parents bring in, the junk food they hand out and they have those trucks outside the school when it lets out.

Teaching Your Child About Strangers - Blog Entry

10 Jun 2006 07:09 PM

We are lucky thus far here in Los Angeles. I take one child out of school early so my other son does not have to wait after getting dismissed and he waits in classroom for me instead of on the sidewalk.

Safety4kids has videos. www.safety4kids.com that cover stranger danger and safety tips. They show scenarios and how kids should deal with them and then show how not to.

Wow, they would not last with a special needs child. My son turns 10 at the end of the month and wears goodnites.

This is the next step with the Behaviorist, but he has chronic diarrhea so that needs to be taken care of too.

I never heard of this and I do subscribe to mothering and read alternative medicine and other mags.

I graduated high school in 1978 and there were a few pregnancies and a couple of suicides. Smoking in the bathroom and school bomb threats took place during that period too. Interesting list.

The Benefits of Green Tea - Blog Entry

29 May 2006 06:27 PM

I don't drink tea or coffee, only hot cocoa or skim chocolate milk. Last month I started taking green tea extract. Does this give the same benefit as drinking green tea?

Thanks ~ Bonnie Sayers http://autismspectrumdisorders.bellaonline.com
