Our puppy likes the home-made toys much better than the commercial squeaky ones (which he doesn't touch). His favourite is a two-litre soda bottle that we dropped a handful of his dog kibble into, then squished flat and bent up so that the kibble was trapped inside but still visible. He goes berserk with it, throwing it, digging at it, shaking it to try to get to the food. I think it promotes the community feeling and loyalty to a school, and does credit to the school when its students are on trips out, etc. But uniform companioes sometimes take advantage, and the costs can be quite high.
