Just slice it and fry it in a pan w/ the soda. It's really yummy. Hmmm, maybe this will be dinner tonight. :) Finding Out Your Dog is Deaf10 Jan 2008 09:23 AM When I first got her I did a lot of research on deaf ferrets (unfortunately it's common among ferrets) I read about how you could teach them signs so we started right away when she was a tiny kit. We realized how much she loved mirrors the first time she managed to get up on my dresser and saw herself in the mirror. At first she kept trying to play with this other ferret! (So cute) After that she would do whatever she could to get up there. She would knock everything off the dresser and lay there and clean herself in front of the mirror. We put the mirror behind her cage so she could still play in the mirror but hopefully leave my dresser alone. It worked. :) What Is It About Orange Cats and Dogs?09 Jan 2008 12:34 PM My orange cat, Sponge Bob, is anything but fearless. He is actually scared of just about everything and his favorite past time is hiding. We just recently moved into our new home and he spent the first week hiding in a bathroom drawer! He would open the cabinet w/ his paw then crawl into the drawer from under the sink. My other 2 homes he would stay on top of the kitchen cabinets where no one could reach him. At this house the cabinets go all the way to the ceiling so I guess he's retreated to the bathroom! Finding Out Your Dog is Deaf09 Jan 2008 12:26 PM I had a deaf ferret named Izzy. We actually were able to teach her signs for different things. When I would point my finger at her she knew she was doing something she wasn't supposed to. She would usually turn her head away so she couldn't she you pointing at her. She was a very sound sleeper but would know when we came in the room from our vibrations. She also LOVED mirrors! We even put one behing her cage because she loved to watch herself eat! Flattening Your Freezer Cooking08 Jan 2008 07:23 AM That is really a great idea. I'm currently trying to talk my husband into the freezer cooking thing but he's skeptical, he's worried that stuff will go to waste. Gift Giving for Twins at Christmas12 Dec 2007 08:25 AM not on the subject of twins but I have a holiday birthday - December 27th. Now that I'm older (about to turn 30!) I don't mind the "this is for your birthday and Christmas" gift Although when I was younger I really felt gypped. My mom even threw me a birthday party in the middle of summer one year just to seperate my birthday from Christmas. No Bars and Dances (Thank You Very Much)10 Dec 2007 01:14 PM I agree with you. Hanging out at places that have little or nothing to do with your interests and values will only result in you meeting people who you would most likely not be happy with. Whats the point of that? All I Want for Christmas....05 Dec 2007 07:31 AM I agree. I couldn't ask for anything more this year. My husband and I are back together after a 2 year split and we're expecting our first baby, a girl, in February. I couldn't be much happier! I'm so thankful for all that I have. Challenging the Status Quo on the Age of Weaning20 Nov 2007 08:24 AM I'm due to have my first baby in February. I'll be 30 when she's born. I have always planned on BFing when I have children. In fact it's something I have looked forward to for years! My mother BF her children for 2 1/2 years each. I used to watch her nurse my baby sister and think how amazing and wonderful it was. Unfortunatly my mom lives 500 miles away and my in-laws live very close. I have very little support here for BFing. My SIL has told me on several occasions how gross it is to nurse past a year old. She has even bought me bottles because she really doesn't think I BF. My 12 yr old nephew freaks out if I even mention it because he thinks it's so disgusting! My mom has suggested I get invloved in my local LLL because she doesn't want to get discouraged. I don't understand why people have such a negative attitude about something so natural. God made us so that we could feed and nourish our children. Whats gross about that?? A Father's Influence09 Nov 2007 11:41 AM Great article. I have seen in my older brothers lives how much my fathers actions have had such a negative impact on their lives. (Mine also) You and your son are blessed to have a positive male influence in his life! 1 2 |
