Tristi,

Thank you so much for the interview. I really had to think hard about my creative process to answer your questions. But it's a subject I've always been interested in ... not my own process so much as other people's. Reading author interviews in The Partisan Review was always one of my favorite pastimes as a teenager. Finding out (among other things) that Hemingway had rewritten the last paragraph of "A Farwell to Arms" twenty-eight times was a great encouragement. (So he didn't get it right the first time! There was hope for me!) And if anyone who stops by has encouraging tales of their own they'd like to share, I'd like to her them.
