Hey New Yorker: A Picture Is Worth a Thousand Words - Blog Entry

16 Jul 2008 07:59 AM

The "New Yorker" has come out saying that it's not supposed to be derogatory, but satirical, and that readers of the article realize that; but as Mike Huckabee pointed out on Hannity & Colmes the other night, how many people are going to read the article? For someone who is into politics and reads magazines like the New Yorker, it is all clear, but for the average man or woman spying that cover at a magazine stand it paints a different picture.

Now, Rush Limbaugh came out yesterday (I believe) and said on his radio show that what this cover actually depicts is the conservatives' view of Obama, but once again, I don't know that the average American would think that much into it, so the cover remains not in good taste and it will be interesting to see how this plays out.

I enjoyed this book too. I wonder how many dads are going to try to convert their mini-vans into pirate schooner.

Television Actor Keeps Legacy Alive - Blog Entry

Oh geez Tristi, we really should talk more. Bruce was my other crush. Scarecrow was too cute. I think it's a bit odd that I seem to have a thing for Melissa's husbands--TV and real.

Thanks for posting this Tristi. It's great the way Dean has stays connected to the character he played on TV. I'm looking forward to everything Dean is working on to keep Laura's legacy alive for generations to come.

I never knew that about you. We need to talk more often. My bookshelves are sagging with all my books by and about Laura and her family.
