My two-year-old still drinks from a bottle - Mostly just for his comfort (and my convenience, he pours anything that will pour) but I don't see anything wrong with it. Eventually, he'll find comfort in other things and move on when he's ready. If anybody has a problem with it, oh well! My standard answer to anyone who thinks I'm doing something incorrectly: "I'm the Mommy and I know my baby best." Until an instruction book comes out with the placenta, Mommys RULE. You nurse your baby as long as she wants! Momma's Can Be Wrong! - Blog Entry22 Feb 2007 11:31 AM Our favorite Christmas movie will stay on the DVD shelf all year long. We've watched it hundreds of times already but there is something about The Polar Express that makes it a year-round movie for us. I think it's nice to have a little Christmas cheer between Christmases. Are They Or Aren't They? - Blog Entry21 Feb 2007 07:37 AM Isn't it possible that Wilson was/is simply Hudson's "rebound guy"? Let's face it, when a woman splits with a long-term partner, she needs a rebound guy just to affirm her sense of self. Don't we all ask "What's wrong with me?", "Why couldn't we make it work?", "Am I flawed as a woman in some way?" The rebound guy helps us get over that. We go out, we have fun, we get a little attention and then all seems right in our world and we outgrow the rebound guy. Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn seem to be excellent Hollywood rebound guys! Hey, maybe they should make a movie... 3-Steps To Stop Whining - Blog Entry21 Feb 2007 07:30 AM OK, maybe this works for older kids, but my 2-year-old is not reasonable when he is in a whining mood. If my child whines when I am out in public and I stop what I'm doing and take him home, he wins. If I have errands to get done, I cannot simply stop everything just because my child is whining. I find the only thing to do is ignore the whining, show him it has no effect and then carry on. If it turns into a tantrum, I just make sure he's strapped into the carriage or his stroller and ride it out. Of course, if we're at a playground and he starts whining, no problem - we go home. Personally, I can't wait for the day these steps work for my son. It will be a blessed day indeed. Fantasizing About a Personal Assistant - Blog Entry21 Feb 2007 07:15 AM You don't need a Personal Assistant. YOU NEED A HOUSEWIFE! Demonic Doors - Blog Entry20 Feb 2007 07:22 AM But surely doing yoga WHILE meditating on Christ could be a good thing, couldn't it? 20 Minutes A Day Can Change Your Life - Blog Entry19 Feb 2007 08:20 PM So true! I've been on the Body-for-Life program for just over a week now and the workouts in that program are quick! I finish my lifting in 30-40 minutes and every other day, I do 20 minutes of high intensity aerobic training. I've lost 9 pounds and 6 inches in the first week! You can make big changes with just a little bit of time!! How's Your Handshake? - Blog Entry19 Feb 2007 08:05 AM During my time in politics, I experienced quite a few different handshakes. One man that I was constantly in communication with and met with regularly always gave a crushing - and I mean CRUSHING - handshake. I hated shaking hands with him because my hand would ache for about an hour after the shake. He was a political old timer but I always wondered what the deal was with his handshake! It was AWFUL. I'll admit, I got to the point where I'd never shake hands with him. A big smile, and enthusiastic greeting but never a handshake. Don't be that guy!
