That had to be a small kid! My son is only 2, 39" tall and weighs 38 pounds. I don't care how much he wants Spongebob, he will not fit through that hole! Baby on Board - Why? - Blog Entry23 Nov 2006 11:18 AM Another great reason for "Baby on Board" signs is to let emergency personnel know that somebody else is in there with you in case, God forbid, you should get into an accident. Hold the Phone! Research States That Parents Should Pick Up Their Baby When It Cries - Blog Entry23 Nov 2006 11:15 AM LOL! I think every parent gets into this debate with some older, more experienced family member. My answer was always: "He's x months old. He eats, sleeps and poops. He isn't functioning at a high enough level to be manipulative yet. When he cries, he needs me, so back off!" What If I Don't Get a Baby Shower? - Blog Entry23 Nov 2006 11:07 AM I didn't have a shower either. oddly enough, strangers came out of the woodwork with gifts! A friend of a friend had a one-year-old and a lot of outgrown dress clothes. Another friend had a one-year-old and gave me all the onesies she had for her son. A woman down the street, whom I'd never met, gave be loads of blankets she'd received but couldn't use for her twins and also threw in a monitor. It really was remarkable and I never once missed having a shower! Holiday Stress & Your Baby - Blog Entry23 Nov 2006 11:01 AM We live far away from both sets of grandparents, so I'm always wary when they come to visit. My parents seem to think that volume helps children understand English and my son usually gets pretty stressed with all the yelling. Visits with my parents are usually tentative at first. When my in-laws walk through the door though - OH MY! My son usually has an enthusiastic "Hi!" with hugs and kisses. I love watching him with them. In fact, I loved it so much that when my son couldn't say "Gramma" and called her "Mama" instead, it was OK with me! Great Book Ideas for Babies & Toddlers - Blog Entry23 Nov 2006 10:55 AM My son's first word was "Freya", the name of our German Shepherd (actually, it was "eya", but he was pointing at her so we knew what he was saying without the "F" and "R" sounds.) He had a complete library before he was born but one book always stood out: "That's Not My Puppy". He still loves it. Why I Am Thankful to be a Mom - Blog Entry23 Nov 2006 10:52 AM Much like you, I used to be about the loot. My husband and I always had loads of books and DVDs under the Christmas tree for ourselves. Now, I'm hard pressed to pinpoint anything that I want for Christmas other than to watch my son unwrap presents and get excited about new toys and the boxes they came in. It's all about him now and, in the words of Cookie Monster "I feel strangely OK with that." Diary of an Overweight Mom: I'm Getting a Divorce - Blog Entry22 Nov 2006 09:54 PM Oh, Cathy! I'm so proud of you!!!
