The Health Benefits of Massage - Blog Entry

My son was colicky. We tried everything. What we found worked best was a warm bath and then a massage with Johnson's bedtime Lotion. It really worked wonders for all of us!

Fast and Fabulous Finger Foods - Blog Entry

I never introduced my son to candy. I did make sure that he always had a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables to try. Now he's just crazy about them and will easily eat just fruit and vegetables all day long. Cherry tomatoes, broccoli, cauliflower, celery, oranges, apples, pears, peaches - it's so easy! String cheese is also a big hit.

If you never make a point of introducing your kids to junk food it makes healthy eating a whole lot easier.

Would You Allow A Boy - Girl Sleepover? - Blog Entry

There is only one way I'd allow this: The guest sleeps downstairs, my child sleeps upstairs, and my husband and two german shepherds sleep at the top of the stairs.

Can you lose weight eating fast food? In short-Yes! - Blog Entry

Very good information. My big problem is carbs so I try to order my burgers or sandwiches sans bread. I've found that both Burger King and McDonald's will do bunless sandwiches very nicely - they always put way more lettuce on them than you would get on the regular sandwich. I'm also a big fan of the apple dippers and yogurt parfait at McDonald's.

Babies in the News: Infant Twins Have Different Skin Color - Blog Entry

Hey, Vin Diesel has a twin with blonde hair and blue eyes. It happens. I would imagine that as time goes by, the human race will become more and more racially ambiguous.

I'm Disney Selective - Blog Entry

21 Oct 2006 08:44 PM

I have to take issue with Grace's statement on 'Disney dominating the child's imagination'. If a child isn't given quiet time without outside stimulus then they won't use their imagination. Too many parents just plug in their kids to the TV in the morning and then unplug them when it is time to go to bed rather than limiting their movie & television time. My husband and I discussed long ago that we would buy all of the classic Disney children's movies as well as any new Disney movies that we felt were appropriate for our son. Just because we buy all the movies doesn't mean that our son is plugged in to them for 12 hours a day, nor does it mean that we buy all the backpacks, lunchboxes, stuffed toys and action figures that go along with each movie.

That doesn't make us anti-Disney. Geez! That's just responsible parenting! You can't blame Disney for parents making poor choices.

Chicken Tava - Blog Entry

I had Chicken Tava in the Tarsus region of Turkey that was similar but much lighter. The chicken was all white meat, cut into cubes and there wasn't a heavy sauce. It was a wonderful melange of chicken, tomatoes, green peppers, onions and garlic served in a sizzling dish with fantastic flatbread on the side.

Just Saying No to Recruiters - Blog Entry

I agree completely, Sherry! Babydawn, you're parents raised you well. Unfortunately, there are too many American parents who believe that the public school system will raise their kids for them. That's how you get kids who can't make their own decisions or their own lives.
