Prince Harry going to War?

18 Feb 2007 06:35 AM

It's been standard procedure for the British Royals that the first in line is groomed for Kingdom (which means a good education, military training and lots of travel/PR work). The first in line is NEVER sent into combat. The second in line always takes up a military career. Any others in line need to just find their own niche. Prince Harry has proven himself to be a "Man's man" and he'd definitely keep the scandal sheets busy if he stayed home. Perhaps it would be better for him to build his own life as a military leader rather than just being #2 at home.

Sending Gifts to School

How awful that parents would put other kids under that kind of pressure. Wouldn't a child be more of a hero if their parent(s) sent everyone in the class a balloon or flower - instead of a whole bouquet to one child who won't share? Of, if sending their child a balloon bouquet, make an agreement that the child will give one balloon to each child in the class. Now that would make much more sense than just giving the kid something to show off.

It all sounds very Dudley Dursley to me.

Couple Who Caged Their Special Needs Children Get Two Years in Prison

16 Feb 2007 08:06 AM

This is an easy sentence: If 11 children were caged for 2 years each, that 22 years. Mr & Mrs Gravelle should get 22 years each plus one year each just for being miserable parents.

The social workers who placed additional children in that home should face criminal charges as well.

What does this treatment of children say about our society? This cannot go unpunished. These children will suffer the effects of this abuse all their lives, as will their own children someday.

Roady's Long, Strange Trip

If only EVERY dog could find the right home. The folks at the Ridgeback Ranch are taking care of so many beautiful dogs. Most people haven't heard of Rhodesian Ridgebacks but they are an amazing breed. They were originally bred in Africa to protect people from lions. They are brave, loyal, loving and playful. They're also wonderfully patient and kind with children.

When Mark and I left the Ranch, we were just sorry that we couldn't bring more of those beautiful dogs home with us.

Good advice! You forgot to mention one group of people though - Those that badmouth a company and/or their manager while they are STILL working for them!

Thanks for sharing our story, Aimee - and most of all, thanks for helping us find Roady! We could never thank you enough!

I should mention that the top two photos are from Roady's Petfinder site, the dog on the bottom left is Thor and the dog on the bottom right is Freya.
