As a woman who had her first child at 37 and plans to have another, God willing, I'd just like to say that the comment above is pretty ignorant. First of all it is amazingly selfish to not plan for your own retirement and simply expect your children to pick up your pieces as they begin to fall off. As for me and my husband, we've been responsible parents and have been saving for our son's college fund and our own retirement funds for years now. If anybody is going to be changing MY diapers, it'll be a stranger that is paid very well. My son's only choice will be which Ivy League college he wants to go to. Flag Burning: Does Having the Right Make it Right?26 Aug 2006 09:01 PM I joined the USAF during Desert Storm and served for 8 years. I realize that free speech is a right and flag burning is considered a form of speech but I hate it nevertheless. That aside, my biggest issue would be the safety issue. What person in their right mind starts a fire - any fire - in a classroom full of children! That is grossly irresponsible and the teacher should be removed simply for the fact that he endangered his students in not one but two classes! It was very important to him and my mother that my brother and I learn to read - and more importantly love to read. Their plan worked and we're both big readers. I had a pretty svelte body before I got pregnant. I gained a lot of weight with the pregnancy. My son is nearly 2 now and I'm hoping to be back to my pre-baby weight by the time his birthday rolls around in October. If I don't make it, oh well. He was worth every stretch mark and saddlebag! I remember seeing a news story about this father & son when my in-laws were visiting. There was not one dry eye in the house. It still brings tears to my eyes.
