The Atkins Diet - Why Some People Don't Lose Weight

23 May 2006 01:05 AM

I've had a lot of success with the South Beach Diet which is said to be one of the healthiest diets around. I was able to get down to my target weight in only 3 months on it. I would recommend it to anyone.

Coming Back to Church

19 May 2006 01:14 AM

I've heard before that one of the sweetest smells in church is cigarette smoke. It's much more important to be in church than avoid it out of guilt. Usually members are less judgemental than you think. Give it a try.

Instant Messaging - The next security threat

19 May 2006 12:41 AM

I recommend using GAIM (http://gaim.sf.net) which is able to connect to AIM, MSN, Yahoo, Jabber, Google Talk and others. It is free, runs on any platform, doesn't have any ads or spyware, and can be used securely. There is a plugin called Gaim-Encryption (http://gaim-encryption.sf.net) which allows conversations to be encrypted so that if someone tries to capture the conversation, they only see giberish. I use it everyday!

What is VoIP?

19 May 2006 12:33 AM

I switched to Vonage and have been very happy in the VOIP world. =) Also I highly recommend Skype! You can do 3-way calling, video conferencing, and call across the world for free or cheap!

Blue-ray vs. HD DVD

19 May 2006 12:27 AM

Also Microsoft is backing the HD-DVD's big time and using it in the new X-Box! In contrast, Sony's PS3 is using the Blue-Ray technology. This is a huge battle and ultimately is very bad for consumers. Someone will ultimately lose, which will be better for the industry, but the longer the battle rages, the more movies will be produced, and ultimately the more people will be upset when one goes bankrupt.

Compare this scenario to Beta video tapes vs. VHS. Although Beta was a better technology, there were too many people already using VHS so it ultimately won, which allowed the industry to standardize on just one format. This saved everyone from having to buy two different players and video rental stores from having to stock the same movie in two different formats.

Count Your Steps

I've used a pedometer on and off before. It's interesting to see how few steps you take in a day if you drive to and from the office.
