Do Coupons Really Save You Money? - Blog Entry

Nola,

This is great information - thank you! I enjoyed learning about your extensive system and in exchange how much time it took you to save tons on your groceries. Certainly spending only $100 to $150 a month on food, HBA, and diapers is a huge savings for any family.

I appreciate you passing this advice on :)

Reevaluating your Budget - Blog Entry

Girlynl30s,

I am sorry to hear about your situation. Tough times can happen to all of us. But, I highly recommend you don't go looking for help on the Internet. Your best bet is to go straight to you local women's shelter, welfare office or family services department. Where you go will depend on where you live and what you have access to... but something of this nature can be found in a phone book. They are there to help and can do much more than a web stranger.

Good luck!

Valorie,

I am right there with you! Good planning goes much farther to save you money than the 50 cents you save clipping a coupon.

Thanks for your comment Janet. It is a very good question, as even though we should all be prepared, we are often not. If disaster does strike your finances, the best advice is to be as proactive as possible. Contact your creditors immediately, explaining your situation and ask for help. In most cases, companies are willing to work with you to ensure they still get paid. It is a win-win for both to create a reasonable payment plan that will protect your credit and enable them to still receive their money owed.

Thanks for the link. Sounds like an interesting place to check out. I know my kids have used Craigslist with my help do so the same sort of thing. It certainly is a nice way to clear the clutter of extra stuff and teach some important money skills to children.

Negotiating Credit Card Rewards - Blog Entry

Absolutely halewendy, when I traveled for business years ago I accumulated enough miles for a paid trip for two to Europe - both with credit card points and actual travel miles combined. With so many cards offering great rewards packages, it is almost a shame to not take advantage of it.

Digital Photo Frames - Blog Entry

Consider buying a frame that allows you to change memory cards. Then you can store different picture groups on each card and switch them regularly. It is an easy way to update the photo frame and you can even expand memory as needed.
