The National Lampoon's Christmas Movie with Chevy Chase was on HBO this morning. I saw it briefly before I changed the channel to watch the news and I was a little perplexed, I was sure it was only early October, LOL. But the Christmas season does seem to begin earlier and earlier every year...

Samual, here biscuits are more like a muffin than a cookie, but they are never sweetened. They are very easy and inexpensive to make and they go well with breakfast foods. A lot of people like them with sausage gravy on top and that is quite an easy/frugal breakfast to make.

My mom used to make pizza burgers too! That is so cool, I swear I thought she made that up all by herself and that it was only our family that made those. SHe used to use browned ground beef, spaghetti sauce, and shredded mozzerella cheese. I might have to make this for my kids for lunch. LOL.

Ha Ha, that is so funny! No, I would never do any of these, although I do redeem coupons at restaurants, which drives my dh crazy.

I will admit that I always order myself a kid's meal at the Steak N Shake drive through, but only because I can't finish a whole adult size burger and I don't want to waste what I won't finish. Is that cheap?

From what I understand, he is something of an entrepreneur, he dabbles in various businesses (real estate, for instance) and manages to make enough to keep the family debt free. And they built that house themselves so that saved a lot on construction fees. They are good at things like that, they do something as a family and it serves as a learning experience as well as being very practical and functional for the family. I am sure they are also getting paid for the Discovery channel specials and now this new series.

The only valid criticism of them I have ever heard, a woman I know said that as Mrs Duggar ages her chances of having a special needs child increases and she should give that some thought. That gave me a moment of pause because I hadn't thought of it before, but I am sure that they have, and as far as I am concerned it is their business how many children they want to have. When they feel they have enough, I am sure they will stop.

All three of my girls have VERY long hair. Erica's hangs to the tops of her thighs and the twins have hair that reaches just below their waists. My hair doesn't even grow that long.

Erica takes care of her own hair and does whatever she wants with it. It is a huge chore to wash and brush the twins hair and neither of them like getting it brushed. I do brush it out every day though, and keep it clean. I have thought about getting both their heads bobbed, but they don't want it cut so I just deal with it.

Yeah, Phelps did better than I had expected him to. I saw him in several interviews during the Olympics and I knew he wasn't going to ham it up too much but overall he was fine. I loved the skit about the Olympian diet.

I wasn't offended at all and in fact I cracked up over the whole thing. Of course it is ridiculous to assume that all homeschoolers are evangelical or fundamentalist right wing Christians or that they routinely learn incorrect science "facts". But isn't it just as ridiculous to assume that all public schooled children fail to learn anything in that environment, or that they don't care about their educations? Anyhow, it is SNL, not the NBC Nightly News and I don't get too worked up over comedy routines unless they are just grossly offensive.
