Sarah Palin Copycats - Blog Entry

I thought the homeschooling bit was hilarious, but then my perspective is a bit different because I homeschool and I am known for a slightly irreverant sense of humor...

I think Sarah Palin is a nice enough looking woman, but I really don't aspire to copy her style. She is very business professional, I am very jeans and cute blouses or sundresses and sandals. Her look is not the sort of thing I like to wear at all.

My husband couldn't look less like my father and I couldn't look less like my mother-in-law.

The label says "warm or cool wash" whatever that means. I tend to think of warm and cool as being almost the same thing, but maybe that is just me? Anyhow, I wash almost everything in cold water so I don't mind not washing my bedding in hot water. I think the bamboo fabric probably does shrink in hot water.

I got some bamboo sheets about a month ago and they do wrinkle but I just love them! They are so soft and cozy but they are shiny and pretty, too.

Bad Economy + Tooth Fairy = Unhappy Kids - Blog Entry

Five and ten dollar bills for baby teeth is ridiculous to me. I think it is fun to play the tooth fairy when they are 5 or 6 but by the time they are 12 or 13 and still losing those molars it is really just giving them money they haven't earned, which is fine if it is a buck, not so fine if it is ten bucks.

My kids get $1 and they are lucky they get that! I have had to go to the gas station at 11:00 at night to pump gas just so I could get change for tooth fairy duty, and I have 4 kids so it can become a chore after the first 10 or so fall out with each child.

52 Romantic Movies You Either Love or Hate - Blog Entry

Wow, there are quite a few on here that I don't like and quite a few I haven't even seen. I didn't enjoy Atonement, The English Patient, Moulin Rouge, Notting Hill, or Something's Gotta Give. (Yeah, I am not bringing up Casablanca again, LOL) My favorites on this list are The Notebook, 50 first Dates (I love that one!!!) Last of the Mohicans, well, lets just say I like all of the other ones I have actually seen.

Can I bring up my grandma again? Doctor Zhivago is her favorite movie in the whole world but I have never seen it. I told her I will try to find it for her for Christmas so we can watch it together. She won't let me buy her things unless it is Christmas, LOL.

Courtney, I loved Titanic!

Well there are about 3 and 3 quarters liters in a gallon, I think the precise conversion is 3.78 liters = 1 gallon. Here, we purchase things like milk and gasoline by the gallon. I think in U.K. gasoline is purchased by the liter, if I am remembering correctly?

Are you familiar with quart measurements? Another good conversion is that there are 4 quarts in a gallon, if that helps at all.

What exactly is a water but?

My favorite Nicholas Sparks book is The Rescue. I haven't read The Choice yet but I will see if they have it at the library. I am always on the lookout for a great book!

LOL! I should have known it was coming! OK, I know that I am outnumbered here, but I just don't like Casablanca. I just have a few problems with it, and I think I have definately seen it a few too many times on top of that. I think I was about 9 or 10 the first time my dear old grandma insisted I sit through it and I have seen it at least 2 dozen times since, so maybe it is a case of over exposure but I guess I just think it is really over hyped. But like I said, grandma loves it and she is a great lady so you are in good company. Its funny but for a great WWII love story, I love Pearl Harbor with Ben Affleck, and most people think that one is over rated, so what do I know? But I do love that movie. And another funny thing about that--I don't generally care for Ben Affleck films, LOL!

I love The Illusionist, it is a fantastic love story and just a darn good movie and I totally agree about Guess Who's Coming to Dinner as well. I haven't seen the others listed here, but I will keep my eyes peeled for them on Turner Classic Movie channel.
