Almost ready for school!

C's Kindergarten orientation was this morning.  I had been pretty worried due to her age (6 mid Sept), her history of being in the emotional support preschool, and that she had been out of school since Feb 2006 (when I got the social workers to allow me to pull her out of the special preschool)

I am happy to say that my first impression is that she appears to be right in the middle of the pack! Wooooo hooooooo!   She wasn't a child that had to be drug into the school, she followed directions, came for a quick kiss on the cheek before she went on the first bus ride (though she reminds us that she was already on a bus with the social workers trip last winter).  She listened to the story and answered questions when asked.

Her class has 19 students (good size IMHO)  The reports on the teacher that I have gotten are very good too.

I haven't yet contacted the teacher regarding C being adopted, I am rather disappointed that they have already asked for a baby picture of her.   With the increase in adoptions you would have thought this would start to become less of an issue, but apparently not.   So I will be talking to the teacher ASAP.

And a surprise for me.  At least 3 of the children at orientation were accompanied by their NANNIES!  :-0   This is just not a world I am used to!
