School Days 2006

School started Monday (yesterday) 

 For C it was the first day of KINDERGARTEN, and since she had been pulled out of preschool back in February she was definitely ready to go.   Sunday night she got the jitters a little bit, worried that she didn't know enough for Kindergarten, tummy upset, etc.  But Monday morning at 6:30 AM she was READY to go. (Alarm was set for 7:30, bus comes at 8:30  LOL!)     She reports that she had a great day, her teacher was very nice.  They read a book about kissing a hand?   Made a hand with a kiss on it .. . that as I type this I am rethinking was cut really poorly, which I attributed to being out of practice, but I am wondering if they had lefty scissors for her, will have to email the teacher later.   She also had her first day of gym class, she said that teacher talked ALOT.    She got off the bus at noon with a smile.  And then twisted my arm to take her out to lunch at Chic Fil A (I agreed 'cause of the nice play area).  One of her classmates was there too, so they got to play for awhile.    Then we did our CVS coupon shopping ;-)

 For S it was the first day of third grade, her second year at the same school (actually that is a first for her, due to moving around, foster care and such she had never gone to the same school two years in a row).  We  were lucky enough to find out 'ahead' that the trouble maker from her class last year was NOT in this years class woooo hooooo!   S had been doing the 'countdown' to go back to school before school let for summer so she was more then ready to go back.

The book about the kissing hand is called that : The Kissing Hand and is a very popular picture to book about a Racoon going off to his first day of school. If you have never read the book you should seriously check it out of the library! IT's one of my favorites!!
